On 3rd July, Emily Holt competed in her first Ironman Triathlon in Bolton. The total course consists of a 2.4mile (3.8km) swim, 112 mile (180km) bike and 26.2mile (42.km, marathon) run.
Emily completed the challenge in 14 hours 40 minutes and raised an incredible £927.50!
“I haven’t done any of these distances before, let alone back to back – but hey ho, what’s life without a little challenge. It was really tough but so glad to have completed it and to have raised 37 ducks worth, makes all the 5am alarms worth it! I chose Give A Duck because it’s a fantastic charity making a difference all over the UK, including a link with my local children’s oncology centre at Leeds Children’s Hospital. I thought what better way to give myself the final push and also get me round the course, than to do it for the benefit of someone else, and something so worthwhile.”
Could you set yourself a challenge in aid of Give A Duck?
