Big thank you to April, Andrew and Clair for taking on the Leeds 10K and raising a fantastic amount, funding 44 Chemo Ducks for children diagnosed with cancer.
“When we realised, we couldn’t attend a different annual event, we decided to challenge ourselves to something new and enter the Leeds 10K instead! With little running experience, we trained early morning before work for the best part of 6 months come rain or shine, which was particularly grim on those dark and cold wintry mornings! The atmosphere on the day was amazing and it was truly inspiring being surrounded by all the amazing people, coming together to raise money for their charities. We managed to run the whole distance, which was the goal we set ourselves. So, we were super pleased with our time of 01:09! Even more amazing, was the fact we managed to double our fundraising target raising over £750 and funding 30 Chemo Ducks for the incredible brave children that this wonderful charity supports” – April Richardson and Andrew Etherington
“I wanted to run for the wonderful Give a Duck charity to try and raise awareness of what they do and enough money to buy 6 chemo ducks. I have seen first hand through my work as a volunteer just how much chemo duck helps families at such a difficult time. This was my first 10k race although i was a regular runner. What an experience! I loved every minute and managed to raise £310. Bring on the next challenge!” – Clair Walker, Volunteer at The Give A Duck Foundation
