“Inayah looks forward to going to her hospital appointments because she is able to take Chemo Duck with her. Chemo Duck makes Inayah feel included as many toys/ teddies do not show treatment for young children” – Shazia, mum
Inayah was 7 years old when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. The Hospital Play Team introduced Inayah to her cuddly companion Chemo Duck, a gift from The Give A Duck Foundation.
Chemo Duck has a Hickman Line just like Inayah and through play therapy, the Play Team would use Chemo Duck to demonstrate routine procedures – taking bloods and blood pressure, cleaning the Hickman Line, administering chemotherapy and more.
£25 could fund a Chemo Duck for a child with cancer.
