We work with hospitals treating children with cancer all across the UK. We hope in time these hospitals will include all Principal Treatment Centres.
If your child’s hospital doesn’t have Chemo Duck or hasn’t heard of us, please do send them in our direction for a chat about how Chemo Duck can help children feel more comfortable with, and less anxious about, their treatment. As the UK distributor, we work closely with Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program, the original Chemo Duck developed by Lu Sipos, a mother in the US, for her son when he was diagnosed with cancer.

“This is such a great initiative. Coming into hospital and getting a central line in can be really scary. Having a new friend like Chemo Duck, who has the same line as the child, is a fantastic way to make this less daunting. The children can save up stamps to get new outfits and many bring them with them all the time. It is a small thing that makes a big difference and I am delighted that Give A Duck is able to provide these for all children with cancer and leukaemia.”
– Dr Geoff Shenton – Paediatric Haematologist Consultant at Great North Children’s Hospital
Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program was developed in the US with paediatric specialists, social workers and psychologists as a way to help children understand and accept their cancer treatment. Give A Duck works with UK hospitals to provide Chemo Ducks to children going through the worst time of their lives, and we work with you to make sure Chemo Duck can make your job easier.
By joining our long list of Principal Treatment Centres and hospitals you are signing up to making a difference in the lives of children going through cancer treatment and their families. It’s a simple process, with minimal input needed by your team. We know how busy you are and don’t want to make things any harder.
Once you’ve decided to use Give A Duck it couldn’t be easier. You just need to let us know the quantities of Chemo Ducks that you need and they’ll be flying to you within 5-7 days, depending on stock. Simply click here to place an order.
**Please note: Huggable Hopes (for siblings) are no longer sent out to hospitals. Families can request Huggable Hopes via the Duck Registration page (scan the QR code on Chemo Ducks arm tag or visit click the Duck Registration link at the top of the Give A Duck homepage).
Most hospitals keep a few Chemo ducks in stock so they can give them to children straight away, and play teams often get involved with ordering new ones as well as using the Chemo Ducks to demonstrate things the children may need to have done.
