Clair Walker

I joined the team in September 2024 and work part time in the office, Tuesdays & Thursdays. I bring organised efficiency to the office and really enjoy the variety of the tasks I work on.

My main responsibilities are responding to the Duck Registrations (post out certificate/s, Chemo Duck appointment card sticker and toy medical kit, duck outfit) and add Huggable Hope sibling duck requests & duck outfits. I support the hospital play teams, checking on duck stock levels and duck outfits and send stock replenishment when needed.

I acknowledge donations and post out thank you cards (for donations of £25+), count collection tub donations and send out certificate of thanks, organise the duck outfits from Blue Light Babies and Rivers Meet Chemo Duck Club, post out Duck Day pack requests, fulfil online shop orders, post out Give A Duck running tops to eventeers, support with Gift Aid claims, database housekeeping and lots more!

I love working for Give A Duck. It is a charity close to my heart and one which my brother and his friends have done a lot of fundraising for. I get a lot of pleasure from sending out the duck requests to families and the hospitals. In 2023 I started as a volunteer, helping out once a week in the office, learning new skills and developing my confidence. I am so pleased to join the team and help make a difference to families facing childhood cancer. I’ve ran Leeds 10K twice now in aid of Give A Duck and raised over £300 in sponsorship. It is such a great experience – you can’t beat that race day feeling!
