Louise has never…
❌ Fundraised before
❌ Ran more than 2k
❌ Taken part in a mass challenge event
But in September Louise has…
✅ Raised over £1,100
✅ Ran 10k
✅ And challenged herself to do something new!
Here’s what she said… (sharing with permission from Louise)
“I’m not one for over sharing and have avoided social media for months in an effort to preserve my mental health! Lockdown and Covid have been a shocker for me, having to shield because I have a pesky lung disease called Bronchiectasis. This condition basically means part of my left lung is collapsed and I am prone to recurrent chest infection and pneumonia. I do twice daily physio, take inhalers and other medication to manage this.
Yesterday I ran the Leeds 10k for The Give A Duck Foundation, an amazing children’s cancer charity…..and I did it!!!! I ran without stopping and completed it in 1 hour 13 minutes.
Having Bronchiectasis makes this achievement even sweeter…4 weeks ago I’d not run more than 2k but was inspired by my lovely friends to do the run and I’m so proud and happy I did it. I wouldn’t be where I am without my incredible friends…you know who you are….you’ve pulled me through lockdowns and maintained my positivity ❤️and obviously my amazing husband and family ❤️
I am absolutely blown away by the generosity of everyone who has sponsored me, I’m so appreciative….there is still time to donate if you can …. this charity makes such a difference to the lives of children receiving the devastating diagnosis of cancer. Love to all ❤️❤️ ” – Louise
And…there’s still time to sponsor Louise!
We are truly inspired and hugely grateful to Louise for raising funds and awareness for The Give A Duck Foundation. The team total is soon to be announced and we can only just contain our excitement at sharing this news with you very soon…..!!!
