Lace Up for Give A Duck

Lace up for Give A Duck – walk, run, cycle, swim & more –

the choice is yours!

Lace Up for Give A Duck was launched in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.  With the charity’s biggest fundraiser of the year (Leeds 10K & Leeds Half Marathon) postponed until 2021 and the majority of all other fundraising events cancelled for the foreseeable future, Give A Duck encouraged supporters to get active, set their own challenge and fundraise!

Every week around 30 children are diagnosed with cancer. We want every child diagnosed with cancer in the UK to receive a Chemo Duck to help educate, support and comfort them throughout their cancer treatment. We want siblings to feel supported too and offer Huggable Hope sibling duck as their special companion.

Why do a virtual event?

2020 was a challenging year in so many ways.  The charity has experienced a devastating loss of almost all it’s expected income.  By taking on your own virtual event and raising sponsorship, you will be helping to raise vital funds to help Give A Duck continue to support families facing childhood cancer.

Exercise lifts the mood, improve your quality of sleep, helps people lose weight and lowers the risk of some certain diseases as well as many more benefits to your health inside and out!  By taking on your own virtual challenge you’re looking after your mind and body too!

We can’t do this alone, but with your support we know we can face this challenging time together.

Research shows that by setting a goal and a deadline you will have the motivation to stay on track and work towards this date, giving you the confidence and encouragement to stick to your training and reach your goal successfully in the time given.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!  We would love you to join our virtual team and Lace up for Give A Duck!
