Volunteers are AMAZING.
Harry’s Dad Andrew is the co-founder of Give A Duck and chair to the board of trustees. He is also one of our mascot volunteers! At the 2019 Leeds 10K, Andrew volunteered to wear the Chemo Duck mascot to meet the team members for a pre and post race team photo in Millenium Square, Leeds.
Jo Plenderleith, founder of Rivers Meet Chemo Duck sewing club provides her craft room free of charge for the groups monthly meet ups. Jo will put aside any fabrics and materials she thinks could be used by the group and helps to create the patterns used to make the Chemo Duck outfits. Pictured here (L) Jo receiving her certificate last September.
Jo Owen, founder of Blue Light Babies creates set up a private Facebook group a few years ago for creatives to get involved and support causes including Chemo Duck at The Great North Children’s Hospital. The members skills including knitting, crocheting and sewing!
Alex helped out for a day earlier this year preparing Chemo Duck orders for the hospitals, completing admin tasks, assisting counting cash donations and doing a stock take!
Thank you to all our incredible volunteers including our wonderful trustees and the community groups who support us, we simply don’t know what we would do without you!
